I've always been a writer, even when I worked in politics (and wrote detective novels on the side) or public affairs (as a press secretary or speech writer), while developing wind farms and other projects. From selling a wind farm to a European utility to permitting an 18,000-seat amphitheater, it's all about story-telling and knowing your audience.

The most demanding audience is my wife and (now grown) kids, but that's a good thing.

My most accepting audience - one I spent many happy hours with these days - are my dogs and faithful horse.

I'm a lucky guy.
